This week, we began our teaching methods classes and Amanda invited a special community member guest to talk about his participation in this year's Boston Marathon. Jim Flint lives in the Northeast Kingdom and is an avid runner. He began running marathons at the age of 50 and has since run in four marathons, including the Boston Marathon. He shared his journey with us today at the behest of Amanda and it was a wonderful presentation for all participants to witness. Jim also highlighted the aspects of nutrition involved with participating in such a grueling physical endeavor, thus relating it to our theme Science: Discovering the Mysteries of the Universe. We thanked Jim for his presentation and wished him luck in his next marathon, the New York City Marathon! We also invited him to come and share about that experience as well!
